Brian Walmsley
Brian Walmsley

This is Brian Walmsley, the Labour Party candidate for Weddington on 6th May. Brian has lived in Nuneaton most of his life, many of those years in Weddington, his children were born at our George Eliot Hospital.

Brian has been a strong campaigner for Nuneaton people helping with the Children’s Centres campaign, the campaign against hiked bus fares for school children, campaigning for our George Eliot Hospital, speaking regularly at Council meetings (pre-pandemic) and he has regularly been out and about with the Labour team helping them support local residents, Brian was a local school governor at two local schools for 20 years.

As a professional engineering Project Manager, Brian manages £ multi-million projects, a skill set which will be very beneficial to critically analyse proposals and plans for councils, he has an eye for detail and is prepared to question decisions to reach true justification. He utilised this skill set to thoroughly scrutinise the borough plan writing to Marcus Jones, on a number of occasions, to question his two faced approach of speaking against local housing numbers to constituents but then voting in favour of relaxing of planning laws in the House of Commons, effectively selling out Nuneaton residents.

Brian will represent the people of Weddington to the best of his abilities, to ensure the right things are done for the right reasons.
