Labour is driving forward plans to regenerate our town centres here in Nuneaton and Bedworth. Labour’s multi-million pound plans will boost trade, support local businesses and help create local jobs for local people.
Our Labour Borough Council has worked closely with other bodies to secure funding for the Transforming Nuneaton project. A new cinema, hotel and restaurants have the potential to form just one part of the ambitious programme.
Labour will strongly encourage Warwickshire County Council to match fund the monies our Labour Borough Council has set aside to pump-prime the regeneration of Bedworth too. Labour has also set up the Transforming Bedworth Working Group, and the Borough Council is now gathering evidence that will help in a future bid to any second round of the ‘Future High Streets Fund’.
Labour will also demand that Warwickshire County Council join Transport West Midlands, so residents of the Borough can get cheaper and more frequent services on train and bus journeys.
