Tories “take credit for Labour achievements” says Cllr Chris Watkins
The leader of the Borough Labour group, Cllr Chris Watkins, has called out the Conservatives at the town hall for claiming Labour’s work as their own.
Cllr Watkins said “The Conservatives are claiming that all these recent announcements, such as the new Mountain Bike facility,
the new town centre developments and the Armistice peace podium, were possible thanks to their work since taking control of NBBC in May 2021. The actual reality is that these decisions were already made months ago by Labour when Labour were in office at the Borough Council. It was Labour that did the hard work.”
Cllr Watkins added “It’s good politics to take credit for other people’s work, but it’s not the honesty that residents in our Borough deserve. Residents in Nuneaton & Bedworth shouldn’t be taken for fools by the Conservatives. I’m proud that Labour put in the hard work to get these things done months and years in advance, so let’s remember that next time the Conservatives do another press release celebrating a Labour achievement.”
