Jill Sheppard

“I am delighted that the Abbey ward Labour party have selected me to be your candidate in the local borough elections. I am 59 years old and married with two grown up children. I am a director of Wembrook community centre, a not-for-profit organisation. I’m also chair of the mental health drop in based in Nuneaton and I am currently a cabinet member at the council, I have also had the honour of serving as mayor of the borough.

I have proudly served as the borough councillor for Abbey since 2007. As your councillor I have worked with and on behalf of the residents of Abbey, raising issues on your behalf, such as street cleansing, graffiti removal, improvements to Pool Bank car park, as well as addressing planning and housing concerns. I work closely with the Abbey area police and neighbourhood watch groups.

In seeking your support, I promise to be available throughout the year and I will be committed to working with and for local residents.”

Jill’s pledges to you:

  • help deliver more council housing
  • set up a friends of Pool Bank street recreation ground group
  • continue to work with neighbourhood watch groups
  • invest in our sports facilities
